Bronzer: Our bronzer adds a deep rich bronze color instantly upon application. The instant bronzer works in two ways, giving you instant color and allows you to see where you've applied lotion for an even coverage. Even coverage is important due to our sunless tanning ingredient, DHA*.
Sunless Tanner "Accelerator": In two to four hours the sunless tanner develops a natural-looking tan that looks like a real tan and fades like a real tan. Once you wash off the instant bronzer you are left with a real tanning effect from our sunless tanner that lasts for days. Reapply as needed to maintain or deepen color.
About DHA:
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is currently the only
active ingredient approved by the FDA for sunless tanning. DHA interacts
with proteins in the outer layer of your skin to produce a darkening effect.
Directions: (How to apply bronzer for best results)
Shower or bath first before applying Bronzer to remove oil and lose skin from your body. (Try Big Coconuts Body Wash for added Tropical feel) Applying bronzer to unclean skin can cause uneven tanning results. Rough, dry skin does not take well to artificial tanning and creates an uneven skin tone. First, exfoliate gently with a shower poof, washcloth or loofah, taking great care to apply the product as smoothly and evenly as possible.
Apply evenly over freshly cleansed skin to areas you want tanned. Use sparingly around rough skin like elbows, knees, and ankles.
The instant bronzer is a temporary color. It is recommended that you wait to go swimming until after you have showered. Once you have washed off the instant bronzer the sunless tanner is still reacting with your skin to give you a natural looking and lasting tan.
Applications:
Using gloves will help minimize stained palms. Gloves
will help distribute the tanning lotion evenly without having to worry
about tan palms. This will encourage a person to take the time to make
sure all of the tanning lotion is applied evenly. Using an applicator
such as, wash cloth, foam pads, etc. can help minimize streaking but can
be more time consuming and use more product. Bare palms is found to have
the best results, however, stained palms is a common complaint among instant
bronzer users. All instant bronzer’s will stain your palms when applied
with bare hands.
To Minimize or Avoid Streaking effects:
DHA, sunless tanner will tan your skin wherever
Bronzer is applied. DHA starts to work 2 to 4 hours after application.
If you have applied lotion unevenly then sunless tanner will also appear
uneven. Once bronzer is rinsed off the tanning effects of our sunless
tanner will remain giving you a very real and natural looking tan.
To minimize streaking follow cleansing instructions listed above. Be thorough
with application and you will have great results.
Stained Palms:
Wash hands with soap and water promptly after
use to remove stain from palms. Using an abrasive cloth or your fingernails
to scrub your hands helps to remove stain.
Clothing:
Avoid contact with clothing until lotion
is dry on skin. Bronzer may stain clothing if contact is made before lotion
has dried. Bronzer dries in approximately 20 to 25 minutes. (Drying time
varies depending on how thick you apply bronzer lotion)
Recommended:
Before you go to bed it is recommended that
you shower to remove instant bronzer from your skin to avoid staining
bed sheets.
Before you go swimming it is recommended that you rinse off before you enter a pool or jaccuzzi.
Warnings:
Avoid contact with eyes. This product does not contain a sun screen
and does not protect against sunburn. Constant and repeated sun exposure
to unprotected skin may increase risk of skin aging, skin cancer, and
other harmful effects to the skin even if you do not burn.
